Berkhamsted Sporting Excellence Awards

Following an overwhelming response to the first year of the Awards in 2024/25, our committee members decided that the Awards should become a permanent feature of the success of sport in and around Berkhamsted.

Awards foe 2024/25 season were presented by Berkhamsted Mayor Sue Jordon. The event also saw Dacorum Council Leader Sally Symington in attendance and featured closing remarks from local MP Victoria Collins.

The Berkhamsted Sports Grounds charity is delighted to announce that for the new
season 2025-2026 all the award categories will continue with the full support of the
same sponsors, to whom we are very grateful.

Plus, a new Team of the Year Award has been added with the prize of a trophy
and a £500 voucher for Berkhamsted Sports, to be sponsored by Dux Advisory

Club of the Year sponsored by Thakeham Homes

A Club that that has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to sport and the local community with a focus on social inclusion and diversity.
Prize – £1000 to club plus trophy

Youth Sports Person of the Year sponsored by Glencar Construction

Members of any sports/active leisure club in the area who have excelled in their contribution to the success of their team/club and shown commitment to sporting values.

Prizes – a trophy each and a £250 voucher for Berkhamsted Sports

Adult Sports Person of the Year sponsored by Harrowell and Atkins

Members of any sports/active leisure club in the area who have excelled in their contribution to the success of their team/club and shown commitment to sporting values.
Men/Women Prizes– a trophy each and a £250 voucher for Berkhamsted Sports

Rising Star of the Year sponsored by Berkhamsted Football Club

An outstanding individual who could reach higher levels if provided with additional elite coaching. 
Prize – £1,000 to be paid via their club to coaching facility.

Volunteer of the Year sponsored by Berkhamsted Rotary Club

Someone who has demonstrated a contribution to their club ‘above and beyond’ expectations.

Volunteer Coach of the Year sponsored by Berkhamsted Sports Grounds Charity

Someone whose successful coaching has achieved exceptional results.

Someone who has personal limitations but has contributed in an exceptional way to his chosen clubs, above and beyond a regular volunteer

This award celebrates the true meaning of “team.” It goes to the team that not only had a great year competitively but also demonstrated the best commitment to their club, supported one another, and acted as fantastic ambassadors for their sport in the local community. We’re looking for excellence in both results and spirit.
Prize – a trophy and a £500 voucher for Berkhamsted Sports
