Berkhamsted Sporting Excellence Awards

The Berkhamsted Sporting Excellence Awards returned this year for a wonderful evening of celebration, recognition, and community spirit.

We were honoured to be joined by some very special guests: Cllr Sally Symington, Leader of Dacorum Council, Cllr Terry Douris, and our local MP Victoria Collins, who joined us later in the evening. Their presence was a powerful reminder of just how important sport is to the heart of this community, and how much the dedication of our athletes, coaches, and volunteers is valued far beyond the playing field.

The evening was expertly hosted by Paul Forster, Chairman of Berkhamsted Sports Grounds, who guided proceedings with warmth and energy throughout.

The Berkhamsted Sporting Excellence Awards have always been about something much bigger than the trophies. At their core, they are a celebration of every single nominee and the community we’ve built together.

We all know the heart of true dedication: the freezing early mornings, the grueling late-night training sessions, and the countless hours of quiet grit put in by our athletes and club volunteers. Whether you were shortlisted, named a finalist, or took home an award on the night, your journey matters.

Every nominee represents the very best of what sport in Berkhamsted looks like. The impact each athlete and volunteer makes on their club, their teammates, and our community is something truly special – because great sport is always a team effort.

Tonight was our chance to pause, reflect, and applaud that collective journey together.
