The Berko Sports Winning Streak 🏆
It’s been a busy and successful start of 2026 for our local sports scene. From hard-fought cup runs to high-stakes national fixtures, Berkhamsted’s clubs have put in some fantastic performances across the board. Here is a quick look at the highlights:
⚽ The Comrades Head to the Final!
Huge congratulations to Berkhamsted FC! After taking down giants like St Albans (7th Oct), Hitchin Town (2nd Dec), and a nail-biting semi-final victory over Maccabi London Lions on 4th February, the Comrades have officially reached the final of the Herts FA Charity Cup!
This competition is 125 years old, and Berkhamsted is looking to add a third title to their history. We’ll face Royston Town in the final at the Letchworth County Ground on Wednesday, 11th February—let’s bring that trophy home!

🎾 BLTSRC Tennis – National Pride
Our NPL National Team is on a tear! Following a dominant 4-0 win against Cumberland on Sunday, 25th January, our squad (Josh Sapwell, Neil Pauffley, Alexis Canter, and Pat Brady) climbed to 2nd in the regional group.
Today (Sunday, 8th February), the team is at the world-famous Queen’s Club for a massive top-of-the-table clash. A win today guarantees our place in the finals at Roehampton this May. We also look forward to our final home game against Windsor on 22nd February! Make sure you put it in your diary!
🏑 BHHHC – The Mixed Team Trophy Run
The road to silverware continues for Berkhamsted & Hemel Hempstead Hockey Club! Our Mixed team is still going strong in the England Hockey Mixed Trophy after a great run through the winter. 🏒
Next stop: West Hampstead for the next round on Sunday, 22nd February. We’re pushing for a 3:00 PM start at Clarion—come along and show your support as we keep this cup run alive!
🏸 Remembering Harry Faulkner
It was a full house on Thursday, 5th February for the annual Harry Faulkner Memorial Match against Nuffield Health. It was a poignant and brilliant evening of squash, capped off by a 5-game thriller between pro players Jack Mitterer and Rui Soares. 🕊️ Beyond the sport, the evening raised vital funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). Harry played with “dedication, determination, intelligence, and sportsmanship,” and we are so proud of our community for coming together to keep his legacy alive.
